Last summer I spent 2 1/2 months living in New York City - The City - working for Time Warner. I worked hard (9 to 5 is a myth in the NYC) met lots of interesting and "mad cool" people and had one of the best experiences of my life ~ being 21 in a town with a perpetual happy hour! (j/k on that last one :o )

Seriously though, I can now understand why people say it is "the city that never sleeps". At 2 a.m. on a Sunday, there were b-boys breakdancing for tips in the subway station! (an example of the hustle everyone was on)

Still, the most memorable part was being surrounded by so much talent of all varieties 24/7. Among the people I saw (including a few I had a convo. with): Richard Parsons, CEO of Time Warner at the time; Soledad O'Brien, internationally reknowned broadcast journalist; Cornell West, black intellectual and Princeton professor; Jamie Foxx, actor; Chrisette Michelle, new soul singer on the scene; and J-lo ;o )
